Ilana Wassertheil lives and works in Jerusalem. Following a basic course in glass bead making in the artists' village of Ein Hod, she went on to a professional course in Murano, Venice, famous worldwide for its glass. Since then, Ilana has been making various one-of-a-kind accessories including necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.
The inspiration for working with glass, and especially glass beads, stems from the possibility to make endless combinations of colors and shapes. That is what is so amazing about glass beads.
Using the unique properties of glass, both clear and opaque, the beads Ilana creates can be happy and cheerful as candy, or delicate and distinguished as royal jewels. Ilana uses original Murano glass in various techniques, as well as combinations with gold and silver to create her unique collection.
